Vucic and Li opened Zemun-Borca bridge

Serbian and Chinese prime ministers, Aleksandar Vucic and Li Keqiang respectively, as well as Belgrade Mayor Sinisa Mali opened Pupin’s Bridge on the Danube that connects Zemun and Borca. The event was followed by a number of citizens and officials. Vucic said that it is a great honor for him to, together with the Chinese Prime Minister, open the bridge which is the first undertaking of the Chinese construction companies in Europe, as well as a lasting monument to the Serbia-China friendship, emphasizing that this bridge is only the beginning. In 2016 and 2017, we intend to build more railways and highways than any other European country, Vucic pointed out. He said that Serbia will work on a large number of such projects with Chinese partners. Li announced new infrastructural projects to be carried out in accordance with European standards. The bridge on the Danube, named after famous Serbian scientist Mihajlo Pupin, was built by the Chinese company “China Road and Bridge Corporation“. The bridge is 1,507 m long, 29.1 m wide, and 22.8 m high.
