The Government of the Republic of Serbia Has Introduced Restrictive Measures Due to Coronavirus Expansion

Until 8 am this morning there were 83 patients with confirmed coronavirus diagnosis in Serbia.

Because of the expansion of coronavirus diagnosed cases, the Government of the Republic of Serbia has imposed new restrictive measures for the purpose of preventing spreading of the virus, as follows:

  • all citizens of the age of 65 or older than age of 65 living in urban areas are prohibited to leave their homes,
  • all citizens of the age of 70 or older than age of 70 living in rural areas or in the areas with less than 5,000 citizens are prohibited to leave their homes,
  • all other citizens (except those referred to under point 1 and 2) are prohibited to leave their homes in the period from 08.00pm to 05.00am.

The above restrictions do not refer to persons who need immediate health assistance, persons having working assignments in the period from 08.00pm to 05.00am and certain groups of agricultural producers.

The President of the Republic of Serbia has emphasized that the state will open special stores for older persons where they can buy groceries they need in the period from 04.00 am and 07.00 am during Sundays.
